In partnership with the CareQuest Institute for Oral Health, Oral Health Ohio is working to improve the oral health of children, and reduce costly, invasive dental procedures by advancing value-based care and integrating care between dental and medical providers.
We are recruiting five primary care practices to identify and partner with five dental practices to participate in MORE Care™ — a care improvement program that integrates oral health into primary care and advances value-based care. Regardless of experience with value-based care, participation in MORE Care will give care teams a no-risk opportunity to learn and grow in new areas, including incentive-based reimbursement and coordinating care to support patient oral health needs.
Developed by CareQuest Institute for Oral Health, MORE Care™ provides a framework, tools, and guidance for medical providers to integrate oral health competencies and capabilities into the primary care practice and improve oral health within a community. MORE Care aims to decrease oral disease through:
Oral health risk assessment and screening in the primary care setting.
Discussion of oral health self-management goals like eating healthy snacks, and regular brushing with fluoride toothpaste.
Fluoride varnish applications.
Bi-directional referral communication between medical and dental providers.
Participating providers will receive financial rewards, allowing simulation of a value-based care model. Pilot begins August 2022.
