HB 203 - Mobile Dental Facilities Legislation (OHO Sponsored legislation)

This legislation addresses transparency and access of medical records for patients receiving services on a mobile dental facility (MDF).

Currently, the medical record for services received on an MDF do not follow the patient. If an individual has received services on a MDF and seeks follow-up services at a dentist’s office, x-rays or other evaluations often need to be repeated because the dentist does not have access to the initial evaluation and services provided by the MDF. This often results in out-of-pocket expenses for the patient.

The legislation was reported out of the house health committee this spring and taken up by the Senate this Fall.
