Success Story: Planning Water Fluoridation Campaigns

  • May 21, 2018
  • 1 min read

Clark County Oral Health Coalition (CCOHC) needed assistance with developing a public campaign to respond to a November 2018 ballot issue to fluoridate the public water supply in Springfield, OH. More than 32 percent of Clark County residents have had between one and five permanent teeth removed because of tooth decay or gum disease, according to the most recent Community Health Assessment completed in 2016.

OUR IMPACT & OUTCOME: Oral Health Ohio played a vital role in connecting CCOHC with Matt Jacob from the Children’s Dental Health Project in Washington, DC. Matt is a national expert on planning water fluoridation campaigns and was an important resource for helping CCOHC develop their plan for the November ballot initiative.
