2019 Symposium

The Oral Health Ohio 2019 Symposium is a one-day, state-wide convening to address challenges and opportunities of oral healthcare in Ohio. You won’t want to miss keynote speaker, Mary Otto. Mary is an acclaimed journalist and author of Teeth: The story of Beauty, Inequality, and the Struggle for Oral Health in America.



Morning Session

Speakers will discuss the state of oral health in Ohio and the relationship between oral health and overall health.


Lunch—Mary Otto, Keynote Speaker 
Mary Otto is a former Washington Post reporter and winner of the 2010 Gies Award for Outstanding Achievement for her reporting on dental care for the poor. 


Afternoon Session

Panel discussion highlighting communities overcoming oral health disparities and the impact of public policy on disparities.


Who Should Attend?

Those working to build healthier communities should attend. This includes dentists, hygienists, social workers, primary care providers, school nurses, policy makers, and healthcare advocates. All are welcome.

Continuing Education:

Continuing education credits are pending for dentists, hygienists and social workers.
